Netflix Error Code NW-3-6

What Is Causing Netflix Error Code NW-3-6?

 There might be different reasons for Error codes. Below is the following point that you can consider for troubleshooting.

  • Clear cache from your device
  • Restart the Netflix application
  • Modem or router issue
  • Internet connection configuration
  • Netflix application version update
  • VPN connection

There are a set of troubleshooting steps that you can apply to resolve the error.

1. The First step is to restart your device i.e. laptop/PC and Smart TV. Because restart your streaming device will clear out the cache.

After that, you re-login into your Netflix application. This process will take hardly 30-45 seconds.

2. If the problem does not get fixed from step1 there might be an issue with the modem or router which you are using for your home network.

Sometimes modem issues get resolved after restarting the device. If not, then might be some internal issue in the device. Due to a malfunctioning modem or router, the Application does not get synced with the server.

3. Above two points work with a top-down approach where the assumption is your device is already working with the server. If you are going to be a first-time user and start with the installation of a modem/router and internet connection.

You should start with a bottom-up approach means checking your internet connection first. You can troubleshoot your internet to see if you can get it working – check the Internet connection configuration on your device.

Ideally, it should be dynamically changed. Sometimes, Static configuration works out in configuration.

4. Now check your application status, still it is not working. Then it might be due to VPN activation in your system. VPN is a virtual private network. VPN blocks other application execution due to security issues. Therefore turn off the VPN connection and check the connection again.

4a- Sometimes this error occurs due to a configuration issue with your game management network or incorrect/corrupted information related to your domain name and IP address.

For PlayStation

Step 1: Settings from the main menu.

Step 2: Choose Network Settings > Internet Connection Settings > Custom.

Step 3: Choose a wired connection or WiFi.

Step 4: Select Automatic for IP Address Setting > Do Not Set for DHCP hostname > Automatic for DNS Setting > Automatic for MTU. Next, Do Not Use for Proxy Server.

Step 5: Click the X button to save changes. Select Test connection.

For Xbox

Step 1: Press the Guide button on your controller.

Step 2: Go to Settings > choose System Setting.

Step 3: Choose Network Setting. Choose network > select Configure Network.

Step 4: Go to DNS Settings and select Automatic.

Step 5: Restart your Xbox. Try Netflix.

Fix 3: Set IP Address to Static for Smart TV

An unstable connection between the modem/router and your device can also cause Netflix error code NW-3-6.

You Can Try These Simple Steps To Reset The IP Address To Static To Fix The Problem.

Step 1: Go to Settings, then Network, then Network Status.

Step 2: Copy or save a picture of the IP address, the Subnet, and the Gateway.

Step 3: Now go back to Network. Go to set Network on manual.

Step 4: Enter the information that you copied.

5. Additionally check your Antivirus software if it is being used in your system, especially on a desktop or laptop. Antivirus also prevent some unwanted application due to security reason. You need to enable the Netflix application from the block.

Reset Netflix On A Smart TV/Laptop

After performing all activities related to network troubleshooting. Still, the Netflix application does not work however you know your smart TV is connected and except for Netflix, other things are working.

Now you have reached on conclusion and the issue is related to the Netflix application.

You need to log out from the Netflix application and log in again. That might be one way to get connected. Additionally, check the Netflix application version, it should be the latest one.

Ideally, the application version should get updated automatically. Sometimes version does not get updated. In this case, delete the existing Netflix application, and reinstall the Netflix application.
